INDIANA NUTRITION COUNCIL
In 1941, President Franklin D. Roosevelt called a National Nutrition Conference for Defense. More than 900 delegates met to discuss the problems of nutrition during the war and to formulate recommendations for a national program of action. Following this conference, Indiana organized a State Nutrition Council. This council continues to keep current on the nutritional status of the people of Indiana. It also lends support to agency, group, or individual programs designed to improve the nutritional status of the citizens.
